What’s the connection between children and the gospel message? Jesus interacted with children during His earthly ministry and treated them with compassion.
One of the well-loved interactions between Jesus and children is recorded in Mark 10:13-14, 16. It says, “People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.’ . . . And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.”
Jesus taught us to seek the humility of a child—to have the faith of a child. What does that faith look like? It is free of pride. Let’s have the humble, teachable heart of a child.
The connection between children and the gospel message is one of faith and humility. We can aim lower. Think smaller. Give up and go have a cup of coffee.
