This popular hymn was written by Anna Bartlett Warner and the lyrics first appeared as a poem in the 1860 novel called Say and Seal. The music was added in 1862 by William Batchelder Bradbury. Over the years, it has become a favorite among children and is often called Jesus Loves Me This I Know. Here are the lyrics:

Jesus loves me! this I know,
For the Bible tells me so;
Little ones to Him belong,
They are weak but He is strong.

Chorus
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! He who died,
Heaven’s gate to open wide;
He will wash away my sin,
Let His little child come in.

(chorus)

Jesus loves me! He will stay,
Close beside me all the way;
He’s prepared a home for me,
And some day His face I’ll see.

(chorus)
